Imagine you’re in the car. Someone flags you down and asks you to wind down your window. They tell you they’re here visiting for a few days, have never been to our area before, and want to know what the best things to do are. What do you say? Well, together we’re going to decide the ‘Best Local Attraction’ Bishop Auckland constituency has to offer so you know exactly what to say!
County Durham is becoming an ever-increasingly popular destination for visitors, with Bishop Auckland and its surrounding areas playing an invaluable role in this success. We host a number of must-see attractions that locals own, work for, and enjoy themselves.
As we grow our visitor economy further, I am keen to help promote the very best local attractions so that tourists know what to see and do when they visit us here in Bishop. Our residents are well-equipped to again show off the best assets we have to offer, having chosen the best local pub, café and independent business in previous competitions I have held.
So it’s time for another competition- this time for the 'Best Local Attraction' in Bishop Auckland constituency!
You can nominate your favourite local attraction by clicking the link below. Remember our constituency covers Bishop Auckland, Barnard Castle, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Shildon, Spennymoor along with countless villages that you can see on the constituency map included in the article. They are all home to many places, events, and sculptures that could be classed as an ‘attraction’, so please do take the time to nominate your favourite.
We will hold a vote on the final shortlist once the nominations are in. As ever, this will be a great chance to promote the local areas and its businesses, so feel free to shine a light on whatever attraction you like most, however obscure!
