Dehenna Davison MP meets with local Sainsbury’s colleagues to learn about their price match initiatives and support for local charities
Dehenna Davison MP recently met with Sainsbury’s colleagues at the Bishop Auckland Superstore to learn about their price match initiatives, support for local charities and reduction of plastic packaging.
During a visit to the Bishop Auckland Sainsbury’s superstore, Ms Davison learned about how Sainsbury’s is supporting its customers and colleagues in Bishop Auckland with the rising cost of living. Having recently invested £500 million over two years in delivering low prices and value all year round, Sainsbury’s colleagues told Ms Davison how their Aldi Price Match Campaign across 250 essentials and Price Lock initiative, which locks prices across 2,000 product lines over an 8-week period, are supporting its customers in Bishop Auckland manage the cost of living.
Ms Davison also discussed Sainsbury’s investments in making healthier choices more affordable and less time intensive for its customers. Ms Davison was pleased to hear how Sainsbury’s Great British Fruit and Veg challenge has encouraged customers in Bishop Auckland to opt for healthy options through the incentive of additional Nectar points.
Ms Davison welcomed Sainsbury’s action to support local communities in Bishop Auckland and beyond through its partnership with Neighbourly, which has donated over 24,000 meals across Bishop Auckland through its 7 charity partners.
