Bring back A&E to Bishop Auckland Hospital

We have a great hospital in Bishop Auckland, but some services are only available in Durham or Darlington. The NHS is getting record investment now, so I’ll fight to get a share of that to bring back our A&E.

Better broadband coverage

Many residents in Teesdale and Weardale can’t get decent internet. Cutting off rural communities, homes and businesses. I’m campaigning for better broadband and rural 4G coverage, so we eliminate ‘not spots’ where there is no connection.

Revitalise our high streets

Bishop and Spennymoor high streets need our help. We’re in line for up to £25 million of support. So I’ll work with residents and businesses on a plan. Bringing empty shops into use and creating more choice.

A68 bypass at Toft Hill

We need a bypass at Toft Hill. Residents have been demanding action for too long. Now we need to protect local people and children at Toft Hill Primary by redirecting traffic and HGV’s to a new relief road.

A Jobs Fair every three months

Jobs fairs help our young people get into work. So I’ll work with local businesses to hold jobs fairs every three months. That way we can connect employers with residents looking for decent jobs.

Backing local clubs

Our community sports clubs are at the heart of our towns and villages. But residents have told me they are concerned about future funding. So I’ll create community sports network, working with clubs and local leaders. Meaning more funds and better facilities.
